Rules to Vote in Nevada

Are you eligible to vote in Nevada?

To vote in this state, you need to be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years old by Nov. 6th, and a resident of Nevada (which can also include out of state students) for at least 30 days prior to the election.

Are you a college student in Nevada?

Per federal election law, college students can register and vote at either their campus address or their former home address, which may be out of state.   If you are not going to be in the state where you plan to vote on voting day, you will need to request an absentee ballot.

What are the ID requirements for registering? 

You need at least one of the following: Nevada driver’s license, Nevada non-driver ID, or the last four digits of your social security number.

What are the ID requirements on voting day?

You only need ID for voting if you did not show your ID when you registered, and you are a first-time Nevada voter. It is still recommended that you bring a valid ID with you when you go vote.
